Seeing Thinking
Used materials:
Packets made of school student’s used exercise books
As long as our eyes are open we see things. But when we think about what we see, seeing becomes meaningful and at times the simple things we see attain unexpected dimensions. Seeing and thinking is the title of my exhibition, which expects the observer to reconsider the habit of seeing art.
The framed images are hung lower than usual in the gallery so that they can only be enjoyed when the visitor is sitting. In this way the observer is provoked to devote time to looking at the image and thinking about it.
Used materials:
Six prints, each 30 x 30 cm, etching/aquatint, 1995-1996
Six chairs covered with white cloth
View of the exhibition at the Goethe Institute Gallery, Dhaka, Bangladesh, 2002
